        Idyllically situated in the serene locales of the spell binding Himalayas, Govind Ballabh Pant Engineering College is one of the few premier colleges imparting technical education in the state of Uttaranchal. The College has a firm commitment towards grooming highly skilled techno youths, who are able to compete with the best in the global arena. Situated about 13 Kms. from Pauri (the divisional headquarters of Garhwal),the college campus can be reached comfortably from Dehradun/Hardwar/Kotdwar by road, in about 4 Hrs.

    The college was established in 1989 by the Government of U.P., as an autonomous body, with a view to fulfill the ever-growing demand for well-trained professionals. The college, affiliated to H. N. B. Garhwal University, Srinagar-Garhwal, has emerged as a leading institution offering degree courses in highly sought after disciplines of Computer Science & Engg., Electronics & Comm. Engg, Electrical Engg., Mechanical Engg and Master of Computer Applications with an intake of 45 seats each.

    The seats are filled through All India Engg. Entrance Examination for B.E. courses and UAMCET for MCA. The campus spreading over 169 acres, houses blocks for each department, administrative block, lecture theatres, workshop complex,  central library,  conference  hall,   sports complex,  gymnasium,  auditorium,  hostel facilities, faculty & staff quarters, campus shops & canteens. The strategic location of the campus amidst the salubrious environment and the symbiotic connections with the nature together make it an ideal place for seriously inclined learner.

 Reaching College Campus                                                                       

The campus can be reached through either of the two routes:

    Rishikesh-Devprayag-Ghurdauri (104 Km)

    Kotdwar-Satpuli-Pauri-Ghurdauri (115 Km)

    The campus is located at a distance of about 100Km from both Rishikesh and Kotdwar on hill road journey and normally takes around 4 Hrs.to reach the Campus. Frequent buses, taxis, trackers & jeeps ply from both Rishikesh and Kotdwar from early morning till around 3 PM. Rishikesh and Kotdwar are well connected through roads/railways to New Delhi. (about 300 Km). Hotels and restaurants are available at Pauri city which is 13 Km. from the campus at Ghurdauri. Frequent trackers & jeeps ply between Pauri and Ghurdauri from early morning till 5-6 PM in the evening.
