Department of Computer Science & Engineering

The Computer science and engineering department established in the year 1992 with an experienced faculty has come out a long way on the frontier lines of software research and development. The department keeps itself in pace with the IT changes and regularly updates its laboratories with the latest computing facilities and software technologies. The central Computer Centre of the departments and software technologies. The central Computer Centre of the department caters to the needs of students from other departments as well and provides overnight Internet access to all students. The department offers degree courses in Computer Science& Engineering (4 Yrs., 8 Semesters).

Computing Facilities

Department has computing facilities with sufficiently large number of high end Pentium systems. Rich software on SCO-UNIX Open Server 5.0,WINDOW-2000 Server, WINDOW 95/98 platforms are available in the labs which includes C/C++, MS Visual C++ 6.0, MS Visual Basic6.0, MS Visual Java 6.0, Oracle 8.x for WINDOWS and Oracle 7.3,Developer-2000, Programmer-2000 for SCO UNIX. The department also has latest SUN- Server Computing facilities. The department has a centralized Server having WIN2000 server family installation that facilitates the various departments with Internet.

The platforms available for computing include:

  • Windows98/NT/2000 (Professional and Server)

Curriculum

Computer Science & Engineering (4 Yrs., 8 Semesters):

The Department has always followed a flexible approach towards designing its course curriculum, adding new topics to its core subjects as and when needed as well as making effective changes in its teaching methodologies.

The department offers core courses in Principles of Programming language, Theory of Automata and Formal Languages, Computer Architecture, Compiler Construction, Object Oriented Programming in C++, Computer Graphics, Operating Systems, Algorithm design   and  Analysis, Computer   Networks,    DBMS, Software Engineering, Data Structures, Computer Communication System, Graph Theory, Discrete Structures, Computer organization etc.
